Girls Matter: Our Calls for Change

OUR Girls Matter campaign launches today!

What’s it like being a girl today? We don’t think enough people in power know the answer.

Girls tell us that experiencing sexual harassment at school is commonplace. That girls often feel afraid to walk down the street alone after dark. That they are plagued by insecurities about their bodies because they are told time and again that their looks are the most important thing about them. That girls feel embarrassed and undermined by the way women are portrayed in the media, and that they are disappointed to see so few women in positions of power across society.

That’s why Girlguiding is launching Girls Matter: Our Calls for Change,to make sure girls and young women are part of the discussion before the General Election in May next year.

It’s time for people in power to listen

We’d love for you to be a part of this special campaign and help us put girls’ voices in the spotlight.

We want to shake up the political and media debates before the election – so that life really does get better for girls and young women.

Take the pledge and help us ensure girls’ voices get heard
