Rangers
Rangers is a space to get together with other 14- to 18-year-olds. Rangers is what you make of it. It can be a space to hang out with your friends, to gain qualifications and badges, to make a difference in your local community or to travel internationally.
Whether you’re new to Girlguiding or have been a member for years, Rangers gives you the chance to learn lots of new skills, add to your CV, build your confidence, focus on the things you love and care about, be more independent, and to challenge yourself. You might want to design an app, or make an animation or vlog, or learn a new sport, or start a petition, or trace your family tree, or connect with nature. You could become a Young Leader with a local unit and inspire our younger sections, train to be a Peer Educator and give girls a space to talk about what’s important to them, do your Lead Away permit, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and, from 16, your Queen’s Guide award. You might just want to relax with your Ranger friends, sharing thoughts and stories and dreams.
The possibilities are many, and the choices are all yours.
Rangers follow our programme to learn new skills such as creating seed bombs, DIY and money management or even planning a micro-adventure.
Rangers earn skills builder badges in themes such as exploring, leading and first aid and there are lots of interest badges to do, like the protesting badge, animation badge and travel badge.
After Rangers, you can move on to become an adult member and continue having adventures, gaining skills and making memories to last a lifetime.
