Annual Subscriptions

Every year, Girlguiding collects an annual subscription, historically referred to as ‘census’, to run our charity at a national level. Countries and regions, counties, districts and divisions will add an additional fee to this (called a ‘levy’) to support guiding in their local area. This annual subscription must be paid for both volunteers and girls. Generally, the annual payment to HQ is funded from the subscriptions paid to units, however, some units charge a smaller amount for the weekly meetings and ask parents to pay the annual fee separately.

The annual subscription amount set by HQ in 2026 is £36.

The North East region rate has increased to £10.50 and East Yorkshire county rates are £8.50 per member.

Divisions and districts can then add a further levy onto this amount, if they wish.
