Makaton Taster Workshop
Want to learn a new skill, and create a fun inclusive environment within your Girl Guides units? Then this Makaton Taster Workshop is for you!
What is Makaton? This is a communication programme that uses symbols, signs, and speech to help people express themselves and develop essential language skills.
What will I learn at the Taster? In this short 90 minute workshop, you will learn a general introduction of what Makaton is, and who uses it. This will be a fun and interactive workshop where you will learn 30 useful everyday words, and an extra 12 focussed on Rainbows, Brownies, and Girl Guides. All participants receive a Certificate upon completion. This is open to all volunteers including Young Leaders. Anyone under 18 will require parental permission.
Places are limited to 12, so bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis. There is a follow up session which will be offered to those who attend the workshop, this will be held on 16th April via zoom, 7.00-8.30pm.
